Why Is The Trump Regime So Dishonest?

If you watch Fox News and listen to those in the right wing media echo chamber you are immediately struck by the constant lying. Why is the Trump regime so dishonest? Why do they feel it  necessary to be so factually fraudulent? Pete Hegseth was just caught out doing the dumb and wrong thing and his response was to aggressively lie about it. Indeed, the Trump MO is all about never admitting you are in the wrong and telling great big lies instead. How this is going to make America great again has me beat.

Why Is It That Donald Trump Is A Compulsive Liar?

Trump has been lying in public life for forever and a day. It seems that the folk who vote for Trump don’t have a problem with his deceitful nature. The mainstream media used to count the number of factually incorrect statements Donald Trump would make in a speech or interview on national television. These days they have pretty much given up on this because it just doesn’t matter to many Americans. Falsehoods, it is apparent, are a much loved part of the American character. Say something forcefully enough and repeat it often enough and US audiences eat it up.

“Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, made at least 32 false claims in the two April interviews that Time released this week. His serial inaccuracy spanned a wide range of subjects, including the economy, abortion, the NATO military alliance, the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, his legal cases, his record as president and the 2020 election he has relentlessly lied about for more than three years.”

Why Do Supposedly Sane People Believe In Blatant Lies?

Why is the Trump regime so dishonest? Are they merely following their leader in this regard? What are some prime examples of this? I don’t think that we can go past telling the electorate that he, Donald Trump, won the 2020 Presidential election and that Joe Biden somehow cheated the system. This become known as the Big Steal or the Big Lie depending upon which side you were on. The facts are that no evidence which stood up in a court of law was ever provided to justify claims of election fraud or voter cheating. This did not stop the Fox News and right wing media world from promulgating this falsehood to their viewers. Fox News was successfully sued for close to a billion dollars, they settled with the plaintiff, over key false claims regarding the Dominion voting machines. Some 60 plus investigations and enquiries found no evidence, zilch, zero, nix. Still, American right wing folk stubbornly clung to their false conspiracy theory beliefs in this matter. They would rather believe it than deal with the truth, it appears.

“United States President Donald Trump has again claimed the election is being stolen from him while peddling a raft of unproven voter fraud conspiracies.”

The Trump Regime Duplicity

If you are coming from a clearly untruthful position on such an important democratic fundamental as free and fair elections there is, in my opinion, little hope. There is only so much that rational and honest people can forgive. It is foolish to go along with such folk and to think that justice can ever be achieved when dealing with them. In many ways, Americans have tended to look away when it comes to politics and to give those on the Trump side a Mulligan. I consider this to be a big mistake. It is like being a parent, with a child who lies and cheats constantly, and avoiding doing something about it. Living in the hope that things will fix themselves is not a clear headed strategy.

Trump’s America Is An Unreliable Ally

Trump has led the USA away from its friends and allies in global affairs. Trump’s cosying up to Putin’s Russia in the Ukraine conflict is unforgivable. The reversal of sanctions against a Russia that invaded another country is a betrayal of decency and morality. The withdrawal of military aid to Ukraine is a disgrace. Bullying the victim for mineral rights is another internationally shameful lowlight for the Trump regime. America has been the bedrock of democratic power globally for some 80 years. The sleazy natures of Donald Trump, JD Vance and Elon Musk are awful to witness. Bullies and stand over men picking on weaker targets like Greenland, Denmark, Canada, Ukraine and Panama. I do not see any of these leading lights tackling any nation of any real power. Gutless scum all of them. American pride is in the toilet with these ‘so-called’ leaders.

The Trump Regime Rewriting History

Telling lies about DEI programmes and attacking higher education institutions through their money obsessed trustees is further proof of their unsavoury character. Trying to rewrite history to whitewash an already whitewashed education system. The truth is that most Americans have never been taught about the thousands of race massacres  and lynchings, which happened historically, in the first place. Right wing extremists are hell bent on making sure that they never do. The Trump regime is enforcing the removal of programmes and exhibitions in museums that tell the real story about America’s history. Historians who have devoted their lives to examining records and discovering what went on are horrified at these cack handed attempts to rewrite American history. The Trump regime want to paint the world as they see it – even in the past. This is what fascist dictatorships do. The liars on Fox News will not criticise this totalitarian 1984 move because they long ago sold their souls for greenbacks.

“Last week, Donald Trump issued another executive order, this one aimed directly at the Smithsonian Institution, and called for “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History”. He contended that the Smithsonian had “come under the influence of a divisive, race-centered ideology” and that it advocates “narratives that portray American and Western values as inherently harmful and oppressive”. Specifically, the order targeted American history and art that focused on stories of race and racism.”

Careerism & Material Success Over All Else in America

America lauds the individual so highly over community that they are blind to the failings this engenders. Careerism rewards are valued so highly that individuals will sell out their fellow and sister Americans for success. The overarching commitment to the success of the self gazumps all concerns about shared values and doing the right thing by your people. You can buy anything or anyone in America for the right price. Just look at the Republican party! This once august political party used to hold American values quite highly. Now, they are a bunch of self-serving Trump arse licking dogs (with apologies to canines). These folk just want to hold onto their well-paid and influential jobs. Bugger governing for the people.

Americans Short On Hope

Donald Trump rode a wave of disgruntlement against elites into the White House. Harris lost the 2025 Presidential election because she shimmied up that celebrity elite pole once again to the disparagement of aggrieved American voters. They did not want to see elitist conceptions of American exceptionalism paraded in front of them. The mood was angry and retribution was sought. White folk did not want to see too many smiling successful black folk. The underbelly of America was growling.

Trump & American Dishonesty

Why is the Trump regime so dishonest? Because the liberal conception of the truth no longer affords white men the inside running. Reinventing the world is required. Those at Fox News spin a narrative short on facts but big on stretching loudly voiced opinions by Trump and his minions. Americans seem to be fine with that and it says more about them than Trump. Power, or the illusion of it, is more important to them than bothering with such things as the truth.
